Mario, I like the section in the infographic about variety of data retailers collect - they can easily obtain structured and semi-structured, but what about Pinterest, for example, and how all that unstructured data of images of items people are interested in? What are retailers going to do to be able to make sense of it, from an automated perspective?

    1. The retailers are still trying to work out how to process some of the unstructured data, especially images. There are already methodologies that have been developed for this purpose, e.g. Google Search by Image. However, I think we are still only at the beginning of being able to use the available unstructured data in a meaningful way.

      And, retailers specifically are only starting to turn to Pinterest. Some are still trying to work out what to do with Twitter and Facebook. So, the automated processing is still some time away.
